Falconets battle-ready for Tunisia

Super Eagles Head Coach Stephen Keshi said on Wednesday in Abuja that Joseph Yobo and Osaze Odemwingie were still members of the team and would return when necessary.
Keshi made the assertion while fielding question on the return of the players for the World Cup, at the Super Eagles interactive session with the media.
“Yobo is part of us; he is still our captain. I speak with him all the time and if he thinks he is ready we will bring him back.
“But it is not about whom you are, it is about what you can give Nigerians.
“I don’t do this sentiment stuff. We see European players that are 39-year-old and they still play for their national teams and they are quality players.
“If a player is going to give me and the team what we want no matter the age I will play that person,’’ he said.
Keshi said that invitation to the national team was not about age, but commitment and determination.

He disclosed that the team would prefer to camp in the city of Miami or Houston in the U.S. to prepare for the 2014 World Cup.

The Super Eagles coach said his decision was based on the similar weather condition both cities share with Brazil, the 2014 World Cup host. (NAN

The match comes up at the National Stadium, Abuja on Saturday, 14th December, starting at 4pm.
The North African girls raised not a few eyebrows when pounding their Moroccan counterparts 8-1 on aggregate (4-0 in Morocco and 4-1 in Tunis), but that still paled beside the 16-0 aggregate mauling that the Falconets handed out to their opponents from Sierra Leone.
The Falconets, silver medallists at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Germany in 2010, also reached the semi finals in Japan last year and are considered sure bets for the seventh edition taking place in Canada in August 2014.
The Tunisian delegation flew into Abuja on Wednesday aboard an Egypt Air plane and will depart Abuja on Sunday.
Referee Ziga Shriseine from Ghana will take charge of proceedings, to be assisted by Zulu Mercy from Zambia (1st Assistant), Ezodobe Ayawa Mana from Togo (2nd Assistant) and Aloreu Delight from Ghana (4th Official). The match commissioner is Pherese Manguele from Cameroon.
